if this trapezoid is to scale, then the scale factor between the shortest and longest side is 1.5

so, that means that 1.5(2x+6) = 4x+2

so, your equation becomes 3x+9 = 4x+2

if you subtract 2 from each side, you get 3x+7 = 4x

meaning that x = 7
