Answer:

h = 24 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

volume of water in the cylinder = volume of water in the rectangular base container

But ,

volume of cylinder = \pir^{2}h

where:  is the radius and h is the height.

volume of cuboid = length x width x height

                             = l x w x h

So that;

\pir^{2}h = l x w x h

But, r = \frac{diameter}{2} = \frac{18}{2} = 9 cm, height of cylinder = 28 cm, length = 27 cm, width = 11 cm, \pi = \frac{22}{7}.

Thus,

\frac{22}{7} x (9)^{2} x 28 = 27 x 11 x h

\frac{22}{7} x 81 x 28 = 27 x 11 x h

7128 = 297h

h = \frac{7128}{297}

  = 24

h = 24 cm

The depth of the water in the container is 24 cm.

Why do you think gas stations often quote a price per gallon that ends in 9/10 of a cent? Do you think this is an appropriate us
arlik [135]
The practice of tacking 9/10 of a cent on the end of a gas price goes back to when gas cost only pennies per gallon and was a tax imposed by state and federal governments. Gas stations added the fraction of a cent on the end of the price instead of rounding up the price.

Step-by-step explanation:

1/6 × 3/4

Multiply across top, then bottom

1×3=3

6×4=24

Then reduce if necessary.

3/24

Divide top and bottom by 3

3÷3=1

24÷3=8

You should get 1/8
