hm, well I cant write a story FOR you, but I can give ya some ideas! I suggest going a more comedic route, something over dramatic to fit the fact you have to write a story about math symbols haha. maybe a forbidden love story between them. maybe personify the symbols in your writing, making them more human. or go full crazy and make them walking talking symbols. maybe they're doodles on a white board, making an epic adventure through the scribbles! dont over think creative prompts like this, just have fun and be creative! happy writing ♡
