Earth has more inertia than the moon. Explanation: Inertia is a property of matter by virtue of its mass. Greater the mass, greater is the inertia. Gravitational pull also depends on the mass of the object. Greater the mass, the object would pull with greater force. Earth has greater mass than the moon, thus it has greater inertia and greater gravitational pull.

Bromine (Br,) is observed as a red-brown color During the bromination of benzene, an electrophilic aromatic substitution, why do
sergey [27]

Answer:

b. The bromine (Br2) has reacted with the benzene, leaving fewer bromine molecules in solution.

Explanation:

Colour is caused by absorption of light of the frequency of “complementary colours”. Exactly which frequencies molecules absorb depends on the arrangement of electrons. Obviously, to break the Br-Br bond and the C=C bond in the reactants and replace them with two C-H bonds is a significant reordering of electrons and so the new molecule is no longer able to absorb the same frequencies as previously. Hence, a colour change, in this case from orange to colourless.

Explain how a motorcar engine produces nitrogen oxides
olya-2409 [2.1K]

Answer: combustion causes a chemical reaction between nitrogen and oxygen in the engine.

Explanation:

Nitrogen oxides are produced in combustion processes, partly from nitrogen compounds in the fuel, but mostly by direct combination of atmospheric oxygen and nitrogen in flames. Nitrogen oxides are produced naturally by lightning, and also, to a small extent, by microbial processes in soils.

How much thermal energy is in 100 grams of water at 50 degrees Celsius
Ymorist [56]
when the thermal energy is the energy contained within a system that is responsible for its temperature.

and when the thermal energy  is can be determined by this formula:

q = M * C *ΔT

when q  is the thermal energy

and M is the mass of water = 100 g

and C is the specific heat capacity of water = 4.18 joules/gram.°C

and T is the difference in Temperature = 50 °C

So by substitution:

∴ q = 100 g * 4.18 J/g.°C * 50

   = 20900 J  = 20.9 KJ
