(BRAINLIEST TO BEST ANSWER!)<br> How do you write 254,456 in expanded form?
d1i1m1o1n [39]

Answer:

How to Write 254,456 In Expanded Form

Step-by-step explanation:

In expanded form, we break up a number according to their place value and expand it to show the value of each digit. For example, lets write 943 in expanded form.

Expanded Form:   900  +  40  +  3

Each number has a place value. It determines the value of that digit according to its position in the number. The value of a digit in a number increases as we move from left to right. The digits on the left have lower place value than the digits on the right.

How to write numbers in expanded form:

Like it said above, each number has a place value, so lets use that information to write 254,456 in expanded form. Now just by looking at it, we know that the number (2) is in the hundred thousands place, then the second number (5) is in the ten thousands, the third number (4) is in the thousands place, (4) is in the hundreds place, (5) is in the tens place, and finally (6) is in the ones place.

Now that we know the place value for each of the numbers, we can begin writing them in expanded form.

Since the first number (2) is in the hundred thousands we know, that their will be 5 zeros, (200,000)

Remember: When turning a number into expanded form, only put that first number, and the rest zeros (0)

Then, we will do the same for all the numbers!

Example:

200,000 + 50,000 + 4,000 + 400 + 50 + 6

Remember: When you are finished with transforming your numbers into expanded form, also remember to put a (+) before the next number to show that 200,000 + 50,000 + 4,000 + 400+ 50 + 6 equals 254,456.

Fast Fun Facts:

When trying to do expanded form, drawing building blocks/diagrams is a great way to help you with transforming your regular number into expanded form.

Expanded form is usually taught in 2nd-4th grade in schools and never brought up again.

Explain the difference between f and f(x).
Oxana [17]
F is a function. It takes inputs and then produces an output. The notation <span>f(x)</span> is saying more specifically that the function is taking an input x and producing the output <span>f(x)</span>. For example, if you look at <span>f(x)=<span>x2</span></span>, you can think that f is the "squaring function", with input x and outputs <span>x2</span>. You can think that <span>"f"</span> is like the name of the function. <span><span>f1</span>(x)=<span>x2</span></span> <span><span>f2</span>(x)=<span>6x</span>+3</span> Above, you know which function I'm talking about if I say <span>f2</span>. But often, people will just call it as the function <span><span><span>f2</span>(x)</span></span>
