What is difference between industrial and post industrial society
arsen [322]

An industrial society features a labor theory based on value, and industry develops proceeds with the creation of labor-saving devices which substitute capital for labor. Industrial societies are societies driven by the use of technology to enable mass production, supporting a large population with a high capacity for division of labor.

In a post-industrial society, knowledge is the basis for invention and innovation. It creates added value, increases returns and saves capital. The emerging of post-industrial societies are largely due to the shift in the kinds of work and the processing of information technology.

Reread lines 104–107, and reconsider your thoughts about Tiresias’ prophecy. Do you think Odysseus has the power to steer his fa
luda_lava [24]

When Odysseus meets with Tiresias, the legendary prophet, he gives him a prophecy. Tiresias tells Odysseus that he will encounter obstacles along the way because Poseidon is set against him. However, he tells Odysseus that it is possible to return home as long as he is able to curb his own desires.

Although Odysseus can return home, and can have some control over the actions he takes to do so, this does not mean that he has the power to steer his fate. Ultimately, his fate is in the hands of the gods. An example of this is the fact that Poseidon has doomed his journey. In Greek mythology, no one can really control his own fate, as this is a task for the gods.
