A because it says “wait for me” explaining she is late and had missed her bus

I believe that the correct answer is C because that literally shows it, but it also could be A because that is a more accurate detail that she actually missed it, and that it wasn't just a random bus. But, I think it is most likely A because C is just imagery. Hope this clarified it a little bit!

How did nationalists respond to the great depression?
hammer [34]

If this was about Japan, they called for expansions into other territories and launched military campaigns and the country became more militaristic. They invaded China and seized Manchuria.  This would lead to invasion and occupation of other Asian countries as well.

Why does Miep feel this way? She is relieved that the frightening officers have left. She is shocked and disappointed by the day
ladessa [460]

Miep feels that way because she is shocked and disappointed by the day's events, as shown in the second answer option.

We can arrive at this answer because:

  • Miep is scared and upset that Nazi officers have found the Franks' hideout and may be taking them to concentration camps.
  • She has dedicated herself so much to helping the Franks and they know they are good people and so she feels very sad and apprehensive about everything that is going on.
  • Her feelings were so intense about the arrival of the officers that she couldn't focus on anything, without even noticing the day going by.

In short, Miep was very affected by the arrival of the Nazi officers and the events of the day they arrived.
