1. <u>smilie</u> - A smilie compares things using like or as, in this case <em>"furnace was like a magnet" </em>

2. <u>personification</u> -  When you personify something, you are giving it human like traits. A sweater can't actually hug someone, therefore it is being personified.

3.  <u>metaphor</u> - Similar to a smilie, nut metaphors don't use like or as. The snow is being compared to a blanket.

4. <u>hyperbole</u> - Hyperboles are huge exaggerations on the truth. Obviously they won't sleep for a whole year, it's a light way of saying they are really tired.

5. <u>alliteration</u> - Alliteration is using the same letter of the start of the word. "winds whipped wondrously" all start with <em>W</em>.

Which statement best explains the difference between paraphrasing and summarizing?
KATRIN_1 [288]

Answer:

Paraphrasing is restating all of the ideas and details in a text, while summarizing is restating the central idea of the text.

Explanation:

When you're writing a summary, you want to focus on the central idea and shouldn't include too much detail. Summaries are often written as a conclusion to a work (e.g. a summary of a chapter or entire book).

Paraphrasing refers to restating all of the ideas and details in the text but in your own words.

Neither of these terms involves copying a text word for word.

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP I WILL GIVE 20 POINTS PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME!!
andrew-mc [135]

Answer:

The answer is B Two Rare And Valuable Pennys

Explanation:

It couldn't have been A because the first penny has nothing to do with stamping

and it couldn't be C because the second penny doesn't have anything to do with WW2

and it couldn't be D because it barely skims the surface of that topic.

Now of course all of those are mentioned, but the one that stands out the most, and is most relevant is B.

So logically the answer is B.
