Answer: Ok so first 0.05(6000 - x) + 0.07x = 372

300 - 0.05x + 0.07x = 372

300 + 0.02x = 372

0.02x = 72

x = 3600

He invested $3600 at 7% and $2400 at 5%.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

I think you had a typo where interest should be 460 not 46 because even if the whole 6000 were invested at 7% he would have earned $420 in interest. Also if total investment was switched from 6000 to 600 the 46 in interest would work.

.07x+.08(6000-x)=460

.07x-.08x+480=460

-.01x+480=460

-.01x=-20

x=$2000

which is easy enough to check

2000(.07)+4000(.08)=$460

A hamster wheel has a diameter of 8.5 in. How many inches does the hamster run in one revolution? Use 3.14 to approximate for π
Ahat [919]

As hamster wheel is circular so for revolution we will find the circumference.

Diameter of the Hamster wheel = 8.5 in

One revolution of the wheel = circumference of the wheel

Circumference = π × d

π = 3.14 and d = 8.5

So, Circumference = 3.14 × 8.5

Circumference = 26.69 in

So in one revolution the hamster wheel travels a distance of 26.69 in

On a scale drawing with a scale of 1/20, the height of the building is 8 inches. How tall is the actual building in feet?
Alecsey [184]
That means its downgraded to 1/20 of actual height, let actual height is x. Then
(1/20) * x = 8, x = 20 * 8 = 160, actual height = 160 inch
160 inch = 160/12 feet = 13 1/3 feet or 13.333 feet.
