Erosion can make mountains because when the pieces of land collide, they form some mountains. This happens because the ground from below shoots up into a shape. Erosion can happen because of landslides and other things. This is the way Himalayas were believed to be made. This is how erosion can make mountains.

Hope this helps you!

Answer:

B Fear tormented and controlled Díaz until he no longer allowed it to

Explanation:

The text is from the autobiographical account of Junot Diaz where he tells the story of the intense fear he felt after a vicious beat down by kids on a rough neighborhood.

After that beating, he had an intense fear of the three boys and whenever he saw them coming, he would get away fast, and they would jeer and taunt him which would make him distraught and depressed for days until he decided to face his fear of the boys and the day he saw them, he did not run even if he wanted to. He could not approach them either, he stood still and faced them, and eventually they scowled at him and walked past.

Which two topics are best for classification writing? Locate the top three Mexican restaurants in Maine. Examine why teenagers a
lesya [120]

Answer: Locate the top three Mexican restaurants in Maine.  Identify the four most nutritious types of food.

Explanation: Classification is sorting things into groups or categories. It can be also be considered as a simple division. In this case, the two chosen topics are best for classification writing because they allow to develop a general subject (Mexican restaurants, and Nutritious food) and then divide those subjects into smaller categories like, the Mexican restaurants in Main, then the best and the worst Mexican restaurants in Maine or the most nutritious types of food, in this way, we can later select the number of elements required in each case (3 restaurants, 4 types of food).

1) Read the following student perspective and then choose your answer.
Arada [10]

Answer:

1: c) The student is qualifying the author's claim.

2: b) The student is challenging the author's claim.

Explanation:

Qualifying a Claim

It means, making a claim factually more correct, and persuading those to agree who earlier had disagreed with the claim.

The phrases<em> "Americans seem to be equally attracted" </em>and <em>"thus only partially fulfilling"</em> clearly show that the student is not challenging the author's claims nor is he defending it. But he is trying to make the claim factually correct and acceptable to those who disagreed with author's claims. Student's perspective is very clear. He has clearly conveyed his point of view.

Challenging a Claim:

As the term shows, it means to make the entire claim doubtful or clearly challenging its validity.

The phrases "just because numerous news outlets are available does not mean that Americans are interested" and "It is more likely that they are tuned into sitcoms, cartoons, and reality shows." indicate that the student is making the author's claims doubtful. He has raised a question over its validity.

The student is very clear in pointing out the flaw in author's claim.
