Can someone help me with 4 & 5 please :)
svp [43]
Hello there!

4).

125= total
77= constant (stays the same, doesn't change)
8= can change

So our equation will be 125= 77+8h

NOTE: The equal sign is actually a "greater than or equal to" symbol, which isn't a thing on phones lol.

Why? (Equation)

125 is our total. The money that Mrs. Byers pays will be exactly that or less than 125. Basically, it's her budget.

77 is a constant. It's a locked price. It doesn't change. But it's money she has to pay (not her budget). So it goes on the right side.

8h stands for 8 per hour, in this case. (Any letter/variable is fine, but h makes it easier to understand).

Why does 8 have an h? Because for every hour that passes by, Mrs. Byers has to pay 8 more dollars. So it goes on the right with the $77.

I hope this explanation helped! I don't want to solve it for you because I want you to understand WHY the equation is this way. As for solving for the answer, simply solve for h!

Problem 5 is similar to 4. :)

I know these kinds of problems are challenging, and you probably hate them. Don't give up though! With practice and determination, these kinds of problems will be a piece of cake! :) I believe in you, and that you can do this assignment! Best of luck!

Help plz can’t figure this out
xxMikexx [17]

Answer:

The publisher must sell 4,632 books in order to break even(total sold equals production costs).

Step-by-step explanation:

So the bookstores are really making $24-10.25 in profit off of each book. This equals $13.75 profit for every book sold.

So you set up an equation:

13.75x=$63,690

x=63690/13.75

x=4632

2 number cubes are rolled what is the probability that the sum if the numbers rolled is either a 4 or a 10
goldenfox [79]
With 2 cubes, there are 3 ways to roll a sum of 4... 1 and 3, 3 and 1, 2 and 2.
with 2 cubes, there are 3 ways to roll a sum of 10....6 and 4, 4 and 6, 5 and 5.

total possible outcomes = (6 * 6 ) = 36

probability of this happening is 6/36 reduces to 1/6

Khan academy how to solve equations with fractions and mixed numbers
Rufina [12.5K]
Generally, you are told to approach these by "clearing fractions". That is, you generally multiply the equations by the least common denominator so all fractions and mixed numbers become integers.

Alternatively, you can simply do the arithmetic using the numbers given. You learned a long time ago how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide mixed numbers and fractions. Do these operations as necessary to solve the equations.
