Two stores sell the same refrigerator for the same original price. Store A advertises that the refrigerator is on sale for 15% o

ff the original price. Store B advertises that it is reducing the refrigerator’s price by $150. When Stephanie compares the sale prices of the refrigerator in both stores, she concludes that the sale prices are equal. Which equation models this situation? Let p represent the refrigerator’s original price. A. 0.85p = p – 150 B. 0.85(p – 150) = p C. 0.15p = p − 150 D. 0.15p = p + 180

Pretty sure it's A because 1. 100%-15% = 85%
2. original price = p, so p -150 is the reduced price
If both are equal then it's 85% = p - 150

The United States won 63 gold medals at the Olympics. 12 of those were in swimming. Write an equation to express how many medals
sp2606 [1]

Let's assume

number of gold medals were won in sports other than swimming =x

we are given

total number of gold medals =63

number of gold medals in swimming =12

so,

total number of gold medals =number of gold medals in swimming+number of gold medals were won in sports other than swimming

so, we will get equation as

63=12+x

now, we can solve for x

63-12=12+x-12

x=63-12

so, equation is

x=63-12............Answer

Paladinen [302]

Answer:

P(x=3) = 0.1318

Step-by-step explanation:

The question illustrates a binomial distribution and the given parameters are:

Given

n = 6 -- sample size

p = 0.75 --- probability of success

r = 3 --- half of the participant

Using the binomial probability formula, we have:

P_x = ^nC_xp^x(1-p)^{n-x}

For x = 3, the probability is:

P(x=3) = ^6C_3*0.75^3 * (1-0.75)^{6-3}

P(x=3) = 20*0.75^3 * 0.25^3

P(x=3) = 0.1318
