After 1 year, the value of a car decreases by 19%. The car is now worth £3078. What was the value of the car originally?
Paha777 [63]

Answer:

3800

Step-by-step explanation:

Variables:

O - Original cost

N - New cost

c - change factor

Step 1:

Recognize that if something decreases by 19%, it is worth 19% less

This means that the new price, fractionally, is 100% - 19% = 81%

So we can use c as 0.81 (81/100)

Step 2:

Write an equation to represent what is happening

N = O * c

Step 3:

Sub in what we know

3078 = O * 0.81

Step 4:

Rearange and solve

O = 3078 / 0.81 = 3800

Write each sum using summation notation
12 + 22 + 32 + 42 + ⋯ + 10000^2
Murljashka [212]

Answer:

50,00,70,000

Step-by-step explanation:

The given sequence is Arithmetic Progression.

Arithmetic Progression is a sequence in which every two neighbor digits have equal distances.

Here first we will find the number of terms

For finding the nth term, we use formula

aₙ = a + (n - 1) d

where, aₙ = value of nth term

a = First term

n = number of term

d = difference

Now, In given sequence: 12, 22, 32, 42, ⋯ , 100002

a = 12, d = 10, n = ? and aₙ= 100002

∴ 100002 = 12 + (n - 1) × (10)

⇒ 99990 = 10(n - 1)

⇒ n = 10000

Now using the formula of Sum of Arithmetic Sequence,

Sₙ = n÷2[2a + (n - 1)d]

⇒ Sₙ = (10000÷2)[2 × 12 + 9999 × 10]

⇒ Sₙ = 5000 [ 24 + 99990]

⇒ Sₙ = 5000 × 100014 = 50,00,70,000

someone help me please for 12 points!!! the first five steps of a pattern are shown, what are the next three steps in the patter
prisoha [69]

The -9 stays the same the whole time but the other number being multiplied decreases by one each layer, so the next three would be:

-9 x -1 = 9

^^^ -1 is in the second multiplication slot bc 0 - 1 = -1

-9 x -2 = 18

^^^ -2 is in the second multiplication slot bc 0 - 2= -2

-9 x -3 = 27

^^^ -3 is in the second multiplication slot bc 0 - 3 = -3

***Remember that when you are multiplying two negative numbers the solution will be positive

Hope this helped!
