I have no idea if this deal with religion or not but, I have always believed that not everyone has the same life and people go through things like suffering and loss so they can help others when they see it happen to other people or they end up keeping their sorrow to themselves and not everyone can be born in the same class so it can bring awareness to people. It's like they want high class people to appreciate they have a better life than the middle class or lower class people even.
In response to the argument that the British have protected the colonies, Thomas Paine argues that while this is technically true, the British have only done so for their own economic gain--not out of a feeling of altruism.
