Answer: Guy Fawkes tried to kill king James because of his religion. Some one contributing to the plot sent an anonymous letter to one of the men attending the meeting at parliament. Guy Fawkes was executed (killed) violently in front of a crowd. The UK now has a celebration every November 15 in which they burn a figure of Guy Fawkes and have a bonfire and fireworks.
