Answer:

I can`t really graph it for you but I can explain how. You know what a coordinate plane looks like, with 4 quadrants? Look it up and turn each of the squares into a plane. Once it`s labeled, you can graph them.

For problem 1, you`ll want to make your first point at the coordinate (0, 0). Then, move one up and one right and make another point (This is the slope of 1x). Continue doing that across, and then the other way going down left as well.

Since it is an inequality, a certain part must be shaded. If y < x, then it is lesser than the slope. Shade the entire area below the line.

For problem 2, you`ll want to make your first point at the coordinate (0, 2). Then move one to the right and 3 down. Finish the line. Since y is once again less than x, shade the area below the line.

For problem 3, make a point at the coordinate (0, -1). Then move up 2 and one right and make a point. Finish the line. This time, y is greater than x, so shade the area ABOVE the line.

For problem 4, make a point at (0, -1). Then, move up 2 and 3 right. Continue and finish the line. Since the symbol states that it is greater than OR equal to (thus the line under it) make sure your line is dotted, rather than a regular line. This is how my teacher had me do it with inequalities, but I`m not sure what your teacher is telling you. Since it is still greater than, shade the area above the dotted line.

If you have any questions please comment, I`m happy to help.

Answer:

To graph the solution set of an inequality with two variables, first graph the boundary with a dashed or solid line depending on the inequality. If given a strict inequality, use a dashed line for the boundary. If given an inclusive inequality, use a solid line. Next, choose a test point not on the boundary.

A circular disc has a circumference of 16pi meters. if we multiply the radius of the circular disc is by 10, what is the circumf
Flauer [41]

The circumference of the new disc 160Π that is 10 time of old circumference.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Circumference of circular disc = 16Π (pi = Π)

Let, the radius of the circle be 'r'

Formula

The circumference of a circle with r radius = 2 Π r

According to the problem,

2 Π r = 16Π

or, 2r = 16 ( by eliminating the value of Π from both the side)

or, r = 8

Now, we multiply the radius by 10

so, the new radius is 8 X 10 = 80

Now the circumference = 2 Π X 80

= 160Π

Hence, the new circumference also will be 10 times of the older one.

Nora had already read 30% of the book before her teacher assigned it to the class. She is choosing between two options to finish
guapka [62]

Answer:

Let p represent the # of pages in the book.  Then, Nora has already read 0.30p pages and has 0.70p pages left to read.

If she reads 25% pages/night, that means reading 0.25(0.70)p pages per night, or 17.5 pages/night.  If 28% p/n, that means 0.28(0.70)p pages/night, or 19.6p pages/night.

How many nights will it take Nora to finish the book if she reads 25% of 7/10 of the book per night?  Without any calculations, we can answer this by "4 nights, since she reads 1/4 of the unread portion of the book per night."

If she reads 28% of 7/10 of the book per night, that will require fewer nights:

First night:  28%

Second night:  28%

Third night:  28%

 Total:  3(28%) = 84%

This leaves 16% to read on the final night.

This is one interpretation of what I think is a poorly worded question.

The author of this question might have meant reading 25% of the remaining unread pages per night, which leads to a different answer.

A 26-foot ladder is placed against a house and reaches the 24-foot roof. What is the distance between the base of the ladder and
hammer [34]

Answer:

The distance from the base of the ladder to the base of the house is 10ft

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question, we can gather that the ladder makes a right angle shape with the wall of the house.

The length of this ladder which represents the hypotenuse of the right angled triangle is 26ft while the height of the house to the roof is 24ft

To calculate the distance between the base of the ladder and the base of the house, we shall be employing the use of Pythagoras’ theorem which states that the square of the hypotenuse equals the sum of the square of the 2 other sides

We have established that the hypotenuse is the length of the ladder which is 26ft

Let the distance we want to calculate be d

26^2 = 24^2 + d^2

d^2 = 26^2 -24^2

d^2 = 676 - 576

d^2 = 100

d = square root of 100

d = 10ft
