Biology

Answer:

Examples of non-inherited-traits:

- At phenotypic level: parental body size that may influence offspring plant development. A plant with an obliquely inclined plant stem in order to absorb more sunlight

- At cellular level: DNA methylation at a specific locus due to environmental conditions

Explanation:

Non-inherited traits (also known as learned traits) can be defined as cellular/phenotypic characteristics that not passed from parent to offspring. Non-inherited traits are the result of environmental factors. For example, in pea plants, the stem may grow with a different inclination compared to the observed in parental plants in order to absorb more sunlight. At the cellular level, non inherited traits are associated with environmental conditions that influence cellular characteristics (e.g., cold exposition may be capable of influencing the level of DNA methylation at individual Cytosine nucleotides). In humans, learned traits refer to traits that are culturally acquired (e.g.., learned from teachers, friends, parents, etc).

Pls hurry im doing an exam Four groups of students plan scientific investigations to answer four questions for the science fair.
mafiozo [28]

Answer:

The correct option is 3

Explanation:

An experimental investigation would require an hypothesis, aim, methodology, results, discussion and conclusion.

The third option can be easily answered using the "requirements" above.

The hypothesis (null hypothesis) would be different types of grass do not affect how far a ball rolls

The aim would be to determine the effect of different types of grass on the movement of a ball

The methodology would involve identifying several playing grounds with different grasses and then rolling the ball with a constant force on the different grasses and then determining the eventual speed and distance traveled by the ball on those grasses which would serve as the results. Inferences can then be made from this results and then conclusions drawn subsequently.

Which source creates the most direct pollution?
Otrada [13]

Answer:

Water pollution is one of the most common type of pollution that leads to the deterioration of the water quality mainly due to the man-made interference. Direct and indirect pollution are two of its types. Direct pollution as the term suggests refers to the direct flow of pollutants in the water in contrast to the indirect pollution that accounts for the transport of pollutants eventually to the water body.

Explanation:

Direct pollution is characterized by the release of toxic fluid directly in the water body. The main source of this type of pollution are the toxic pollutants from the large factories. Some of the other sources includes solid waste from the household activities and waste from agricultural practice like fertilizers, and the waste generated by the waste water treatment plant.

Matrix Metalloproteases (MMPs) are a part of metalloproteinase enzymes family playing an vital part in healing wounds such as physiological or pathological processes and even in morphogenesis, reproduction, embryonic development, tissue remodeling, arthritis, cancer and cardiovascular disease. MMPs are a product by activated inflammatory cells (neutrophils and macrophages) and wound cells (epithelial cells, fibroblasts and vascular endothelial cells). Membrane-Type MMPs (MT-MMPs) is a subgroup of MMPs which is helpful in breaking down of extracellular material as well as in handling of biological molecules varieties.
