Which of the following events takes place in the electron transport chain?A) the breakdown of glucose into two pyruvate molecule
castortr0y [4]

The correct answer is: C) the extraction of energy from high-energy electrons remaining from glycolysis and the citric acid cycle

Electrons from electron carriers (NADH and FADH from glycolysis and citric acid cycle) donate electrons to the electron transport chain and that causes changes in protein complexes of electron transport chain. As a consequence, protein complexes pump H+ across a selectively permeable cell membrane from the mitochondrial matrix into the intermembrane space of mitochondria. H+ can only get back and pass through the inner mitochondrial membrane with the help of ATP synthase (down their electrochemical gradient). ATP synthase turned by the force of the H+ diffusing through it forms ATP by adding a phosphate to ADP. This type of ATP synthesis is called oxidative phosphorylation and it is based on chemiosmosis-movement of ions across a selectively permeable membrane.

What climate related factor helped to form the American Great Plains? What biome is it?
miskamm [114]
The Great Plains have a continental climate. Much of the plains experience cold winters and warm summers, with low precipitation and humidity, much wind, and sudden changes in temperature. More rainfall occurs in summer than in winter, except in some of the northwestern parts of the Great Plains.

Hopes this helps!

A _______cross explores two traits.
dihybrid
monohybrid
multihybrid
hybrid
Cloud [144]

Answer:

The correct option is A. dihybrid

Explanation:

A cross is drawn to generate the possible outcomes of traits being passed from parents to offsprings.

A monohybrid cross can be described as a cross in which only one trait is studied. For example, just studying the trait for eye colour.

A dihybrid cross can be described as a cross in which two traits are studies in a single cross. For example, studying the traits for eye colour and skin colour.
