This is an example of natural selection. There were two types of moth colors, white and black and white. Before the industrial revolution, the environment had white trees, meaning that the white moths can blend in. The black moths are more likely to be eaten because they stick out. Now that the trees are black, the white moths stick out more causing there to be more black moths.
