The characteristic that helium has that distinguishes it from the noble gases would be that it only has 2 valence electrons while noble gases has a completely filled orbitals giving it 8 valence electrons and a stable electron configuration. The valence electrons is the number of electrons that is present in an atom that can take part in the formation of bonds. These electrons can be found on the outermost shell of an atom. Helium is an exception to the octet rule, its atom has only two available electrons in its outermost shell since it only has one eletron shell that is the only the s orbital which can hold two electrons only.
Answer:
Explanation:
When carbon dioxide dissolves and reacts with water, the water and the gaseous reacts to form a dilute mixture solution of (carbonic acid ).
The reaction is
This is a forward reaction. And the symbol shows that the reaction can be reversible. It means that the reaction can be carried in forward direction as well as in the backward direction.
The reaction attains chemical equilibrium until the reactants and the products no longer changes with time.
The carbonic acid can also dissociates into carbon dioxide and water in the backward direction.
Answer:
Explanation:
The dilution formula is
s₁ v₁ = s₂ v₂
s₁ = .0043
v₁= 2 mL
v₂ = 100 mL
s₂ = ?
putting the values
.0043 x 2 = s₂ x 100
s₂ = .000086 = 86.0 x 10⁻⁶
