The amount of calories that a person should consume depends on the gender, generally an adult male should consume around 2,000-3,000 calories a day and an adult female should consume around 1,600-2,400. The way the calories should be distributed depends on the person, if they are planning to have 3 main meals then they should distribute it evenly amongst those meals however if they are planning to have snacks in between they will need to take that into consideration as well.
