Draw:-\begin{align*}\triangle ABC\end{align*}. Label the vertices.

\begin{align*}\overline{XY}\end{align*} so that \begin{align*}X\end{align*} is on \begin{align*}\overline{AB}\end{align*} and \begin{align*}Y\end{align*} is on \begin{align*}\overline{BC}\end{align*}. \begin{align*}X\end{align*} and \begin{align*}Y\end{align*} can be anywhere on these sides.

  • Is \begin{align*}\triangle XBY \sim \triangle ABC\end{align*}? Why or why not? Measure \begin{align*}AX, XB, BY,\end{align*} and \begin{align*}YC\end{align*}. Then set up the ratios \begin{align*}\frac{AX}{XB}\end{align*} and \begin{align*}\frac{YC}{YB}\end{align*}. Are they equal?

a second triangle,\begin{align*}\triangle DEF\end{align*}. Label the vertices

Draw:-

\begin{align*}\overline{XY}\end{align*} so that \begin{align*}X\end{align*} is on \begin{align*}\overline{DE}\end{align*} and \begin{align*}Y\end{align*} is on \begin{align*}\overline{EF}\end{align*} AND \begin{align*}\overline{XY} \ || \ \overline{DF}\end{align*}.Is \begin{align*}\triangle XEY \sim \triangle DEF\end{align*}? Why or why not? Measure \begin{align*}DX, XE, EY,\end{align*} and \begin{align*}YF\end{align*}. Then set up the ratios \begin{align*}\frac{DX}{XE}\end{align*} and \begin{align*}\frac{FY}{YE}\end{align*}. Are they equal?

  • From this investigation, it is clear that if the line segments are parallel, then \begin{align*}\overline{XY}\end{align*} divides the sides proportionally.

Solve question 25 please and explain...
laila [671]
First, you would add 4 to 4 and get 8.
Then, you would set up the proportion 8/52.
Simplify this proportion, which equals 2/13.

There is a 2 in 13 chance to draw a card that is a king or a queen from the deck.

PLEASE HELP!!!!<br> i need help on all of these but if you only have 1 answer that’s still great
hodyreva [135]

Answer:

n = -6

x = -7

n = 27

Step-by-step explanation:

Question 1

-3n - n + 12 = 36

First we get all the variables to one side using subtraction property of equality.

-3n - n + 12 (-12) = 36 (-12)

-4n = 24

divide by the coefficient of n to isolate the variable

-4n/-4 = 24/-4

n = -6

Question 2

-2x - 3x - 15 = 20

-5x - 15 = 20

-5x = 35

x = -7

Question 3

3 + n/9 = 6

Isolate the n variable

n/9 = 6 - 3

multiply by 9

n = 27

Does anyone know this? <br> Will mark brainliest !!!!
stich3 [128]

Answer:

x=4

y=4√5

Step-by-step explanation:

Set up 3 right triangles and mark their respective angles. The largest will have sides (in typical a,b,c[hypotenuse] order) y, z, and 10. The middle 8, x, and y. The smallest x,  2, and z.

Then since they are all similar triangles, using the midde and smaller triangles, set up the proportionin which both A sides when divided are equal to the B sides.

So 8/x = x/2

Cross multiply and get 16=x^2.

The  square root of 16 is 4, so x is 4.

Then using the larger and middle triangles, do the same for the A and C sides.

So y/8 = 10/y.

Cross multiply and get 80=y^2.

Find the square root of it, which since it doesn't have a perfect square, you use a calculator or the whatever theorem and get √4*4*5 or simply 4√5.

So x = 4 and y = 4√5
