First add the seconds you have 45 +5+10 seconds which equals 60 seconds or 1 minutes. Now add the minutes 9 + 7 + 12 minutes = 28 minutes then add that 1 minutes that you got from the seconds 28 + 1 minute = 29 minutes 7:40 + 20 minutes = 8:00 + 9 minutes = 8:09 am. So Marsha arrived to school at 8:09 am. Comment if you have any questions.

You need to add two mixed numerals.
One is positive and one is negative.
To add a positive number and a negative number, first take the absolute value of both, making them both positive. Then subtract the smaller absolute value from the larger absolute value. Finally, the sign of the answer is the same sign as the number that has the larger absolute value.

The numbers are -4 5/8 and 2 1/8

Take absolute values:
|-4 5/8| = 4 5/8
|2 1/8| = 2 1/8

Subtract the smaller absolute value from the larger absolute value.

4 5/8 - 2 1/8 = 2 4/8 = 2 1/2

The greater absolute value is 4 5/8.
Since the number with the larger absolute value was -4 5/8, a negative number, the answer is negative, -2 1/2

-4 5/8 + 2 1/8 = - 2 1/2

A pet store was selling 4 lizards for $47.88. If they ended up selling 6 lizards, how much would they have earned?
fgiga [73]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Step one- Find out how much it costs for one Lizard In this case, for four lizards it costs $47.88. To find the price for one lizard you divide 47.88 by four

$47.88/4Lizards=$11.97 per lizard.

Step two- Now that we have the price for one lizard, your question asks you how much for 6 lizards. We need to find that cost. To do so you multiply $11.97 by 6 for the lizards.

Your answer is $71.82

Hope This Helped :)

n200080 [17]

<em>Question Continuation:</em>

<em>Glenn bought 3 pounds of tomatoes. He used 5/8 of them to make sauce. </em>

<em>Make an equation that shows the number of pounds of tomatoes Glenn used for the sauce.</em>

<em></em>

Answer:

y = \frac{15}{8}\ lb

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Weight of Tomato = 3 lb

Used Proportion = 5/8

Required

Determine the portion used

To solve this we simply multiply the used proportion by the weight of the tomato bought

Represent the used portion with y.

So:

y = Weight * Used\ Proportion

y = 3\ lb * \frac{5}{8}

y = \frac{15}{8}\ lb
