How many moles of NO are made from

Chemistry
1 answer:
nevsk [136]3 years ago
7 0

Answer:

216 g of NO

Explanation:

We begin from the reaction:

4NH₃ + 5O₂ → 4NO + 6H₂O

We determine the limiting reactant with the moles of each reactant:

4 moles of ammonia react to 5 moles of oxygen

Our 7.2 moles of ammonia may react to (7.2 . 5) /4 = 9 moles

It's ok because we have 9.6 moles of oxygen. 0.6 moles still remain.

5 moles of oxygen react to 4 moles of NH₃

Our 9.6 moles of oxygen may react to (9.6 . 4) /5 = 7.68 moles

We only have 7.2 moles of NH₃ and we need 7.68; so there is no enough ammonia and that's our limiting reagent.

Now we determine the moles of product.

4 moles of ammonia can produce 4 moles of NO

Definetely our 7.2 moles, will produce 7.2 moles of oxide.

We convert to mass: 7.2 mol . 30 g/mol = 216 g

2 mole of ethane reacts with 7 moles of oxygen

For a complete reaction of 5.25 moles of ethane are required:

5.25 moles Ethane * (7mol Oxygen / 2mol Ethane) = 18.38 moles of oxygen

As there are just 15.0 moles of oxygen

What is the condition of water in the hydrosphere right now?
SCORPION-xisa [38]

Answer:

A planet's hydrosphere can be liquid, vapor, or ice. On Earth, in the places at the north and south pole, water exists in ice or glacier form, in the atmosphere it exists in vapor form and liquid water exists on the surface in the form of oceans, lakes and rivers. It also exists below ground as groundwater, in wells and aquifers. Water collects in clouds, then falls to Earth in the form of rain or snow,

The following reaction shows the process of rusting. 4Fe + 3O2= 2Fe2O3 This chemical reaction should be classified as _____.
andrezito [222]
This is a synthesis reaction, where 2 reactants combine to form a single product.

In decomposition, 1 reactant splits into 2 products.
In single replacement, one element swaps with another, in the form A + BC = B + AC.
In double displacement two elements swap, in the form AB + CD = AD + CB
In neutralization (a kind of double displacement), an acid and a base react to form water and a salt.
