Ethan, a three year old, asks his mom to cut a pizza pie into twelve rather than eight pieces because he is "really hungry." On
lisov135 [29]

Answer: Understanding of conservation  is not present

Explanation:

Understanding the conservation is defined as the ability to recognize that anything remains the same in quantity even on redistribution of that thing. Change in appearance of the element does not change or affect the volume ,mass, weight, quantity of it.

According to the question, Ethan does not have the understanding of conservation . He does not understand that splitting the pizza into 12 pieces instead of 8 slices would not increase the quantity of pizza so that his hunger can be fulfilled.

In operant conditioning, many complex behaviors are learned through shaping.
jasenka [17]

Answer:

True

Explanation:

It is true that shaping is often used in operant conditioning in order to learn complex behaviours. Shaping occurs when, instead of only rewarding the target behaviour, approximations of the behaviour are also rewarded. This is due to the expectation that over time, these behaviours would grow closer to the desired response. Therefore, the behaviour is considered to be gradually changed, or "shaped."

Which of the following is true of divided attention in the context of memory encoding?
Talja [164]

The process of encoding information in the proper context for memory encoding can be particularly harmed by divided attention.

Because attention is essential for encoding and developing the semantic characteristics of a stimulus, which similarly improves both types of memory, it is believed that division of attention reduces conceptual priming and explicit memory.

What is context of memory encoding?

  • Information can be encoded, stored, and recalled through memory. An organism may learn from its past experiences, adapt, and form relationships thanks to memories.
  • A perceived useful or interesting object can be transformed into a construct by encoding so that it can be stored in the brain and later retrieved from long-term memory. Hooking onto previously archived objects already present in a person's long-term memory helps working memory store information for immediate use or manipulation.
  • Although encoding is still a relatively new and undeveloped field, its roots can be seen in the works of ancient philosophers like Aristotle and Plato. Hermann Ebbinghaus is a key player in the history of encoding (1850–1909). Ebbinghaus made significant contributions to memory study.
  • He used himself as a subject to study how people learn and forget knowledge by repeatedly saying a list of random sounds to the beat of a metronome until he could recall them.  As a result of these trials, he proposed the learning curve.

many delegates of the convention wanted to create a new constitution. What was the three-fifths compromise?
beks73 [17]

The Three-Fifths Compromise was a compromise reached among state delegates during the 1787 United States Constitutional Convention. Whether, and if so, how, slaves would be counted when determining a state's total population for legislative representation and taxing purposes was important, as this population number would then be used to determine the number of seats that the state would have in the United States House of Representatives for the next ten years. The compromise solution was to count three out of every five slaves as a person for this purpose. Its effect was to give the southern states a third more seats in Congress and a third more electoral votes than if slaves had been ignored, but fewer than if slaves and free people had been counted equally, thus allowing the slaveholder interests to largely dominate the government of the United States until 1861. The compromise was proposed by delegates James Wilson and Roger Sherman.
