To find this, you will take the area of a circle minus area of a square.

Area of a circle: pi• r^2

R is the radius. The radius is half of a diameter. Divide 11 by 2 to get 5.5.

Keep in mind that the instructions says to use 3.14 instead of the pi button so you will just use that instead of pi.

A = (3.14)(5.5^2)
A= (3.14)(30.25)
A= 94.985

A square has the same side lengths, so you would just multiple 8 by 8 to get 64.

Area of a triangle minus area of a square:
94.985-64

= 30.985 ft^2.

** Area will always be squared.

Answer:

About 316.13

Step-by-step explanation:

We know:

Diameter (d) = 11 (of the circle)

Area of the circle: pi(11)^2 = 121pi

Side of the square = 8

so area of the square is 8^2 = 64

Area of the shaded region:

121pi-64 =316.13

hope this helped
