Mrs. Hammond is tracking the number of assignments she grades each month. Information about the number of assignments she grades

for the first three months of tracking is listed below.
• During the first month, Mrs. Hammond graded 4,764 assignments.
• During the second month, Mrs. Hammond graded 25% more assignments than in the first month.
• During the third month, Mrs. Hammond graded 7444 assignments. (ROUND for this one on this problem, but not on the Interim.)

A builder needs to tile a 7 foot by 8 foot room with one-foot square tiles. how many tiles will she need?
Diano4ka-milaya [45]
I believe that she will need 56 square tiles. You get this by doing 7 times 8 which is 56. Then, since each tile is a one-foot square tile, you would need 56 tiles to cover the whole floor.

Which graph represents the function y = cos(4x)?<br><br> Answer is graph B
VARVARA [1.3K]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the equation of the cosine function is,

y = Acos(Bx)

From the graph attached,

A = Amplitude = \frac{1-(-1)}{2}

   = 1

B = \frac{2\pi}{\text{Period}}

B = \frac{2\pi}{\frac{\pi}{2}-0}

B = \frac{4\pi}{\pi}

B = 4

Therefore, equation of the cosine wave given in the graph will be,

y = 1.Cos(4x)

y = Cos(4x)

Answer: The fourth term is -102

----------------------------------------------

Explanation:

The term after the nth term is generated by this rule  a_{n+1} = -4(a_n) + 2 which means that we first
Step 1) multiply the nth term ( a_n ) by -4
Step 2) Add the result of step 1 to the value 2 to get the next term in the sequence

Let's follow those steps above to generate the first four terms

The first term is a_1 = 2. In short, the first term is 2

The second term is...
a_{n+1} = -4(a_n) + 2
a_{1+1} = -4(a_1) + 2
a_{2} = -4(2) + 2
a_{2} = -8 + 2
a_{2} = -6
So the second term is -6

The third term is...
a_{n+1} = -4(a_n) + 2
a_{2+1} = -4(a_2) + 2
a_{3} = -4(-6) + 2
a_{3} = 24 + 2
a_{3} = 26
The third term is 26

Finally, the fourth term is...
a_{n+1} = -4(a_n) + 2
a_{3+1} = -4(a_3) + 2
a_{4} = -4(26) + 2
a_{4} = -104 + 2
a_{4} = -102
The fourth term is -102.
