Answer:

A square root of a number is a value that, when multiplied by itself, gives the number. 6 · 6 = 36, so <em>a</em> square root of 36 is 6. You are probably curious why I said a square root and not the square root. - 6 · - 6 = 36. - 6 is a square root of 36. The symbol is √ which always means the positive square root.

√1 = 1

√4 = 2

√9 = 3

√16 = 4

√25 = 5

√36 = 6

√49 = 7

√64 = 8

√81 = 9

√100 = 10

Triangle XYZ, X equals 27 cm, Y equals 79 cm and angle C equals 142Degrees. Find the length of Z, to the nearest centimeter.
Oksi-84 [34.3K]

Given:

In triangle XYZ, x = 27 cm, y = 79 cm and \angle C=142^\circ.

To find:

The length of z.

Solution:

In triangle XYZ, using the Law of cosine, we get

z^2=x^2+y^2-2xy\cos Z

Putting the given values in the above formula, we get

z^2=(27)^2+(79)^2-2(27)(79)\cos (142^\circ)

z^2=729+6241-4266(-0.788)

z^2=6970+3361.608

z^2=10331.608

Taking square root on both sides.

z=\pm \sqrt{10331.608}

z=\pm 101.6445178

Approx the above value to the nearest number and side length cannot be negative. So,

z\approx \pm 102\text{ cm}

Therefore, the length of z is about 102 cm.

State whether the triangles are similar. If so, write a similarity statement and the postulate or theorem you used. The diagram
olga55 [171]

Givn : OK = 3, OJ = 30, KN = 1, JM = 3

ON=OK+KN=3+1=4

OM=OJ+JM=30+10=40

In triangles OKJ & ONM,

OKOJ=330=110

ONOM=440=110

Angle O is common in both the triangles.

Two sides are in same proportion and the included angle is common (SAS) . Hence both the triangles are similar.

That means KJNM=110 or the two sides are parallel.

Hence ˆK=ˆN,ˆJ=ˆM corresponding angles.

Find the value of h rounded to the nearest tenth
3241004551 [841]
For angle G, FH is the opposite leg.
h is the hypotenuse.

The trig ratio that relates the opposite leg and the hypotenuse is the sine.

\sin \theta = \dfrac{opp}{hyp}

\sin 48^\circ = \dfrac{5}{h}

h = \dfrac{5}{\sin 48^\circ}

h = 6.7
