Answer:

A.  We have two lines:  y = 2-x   and   y = 4x+3 Given two simultaneous equations that are both required to be true.. the solution is the points where the lines cross...  Which is where the two equations are equal..  Thus the solution that works for both equations is when 2-x = 4x+3 because where that is true is where the two lines will cross and that is the common point that satisfies both equations.   B.  2-x = 4x+3   x     2-x      4x+3

______________

-3     5       -9

-2     4       -5

-1     3       -1

0     2        3

1     1        7

2     0      11

3    -1      15

The table shows that none of the integers from [-3,3] work because in no case does

2-x = 4x+3   To find the solution we need to rearrange the equation to the form x=n 2-x = 4x+3 2 -x + x = 4x + x +3 2 = 5x + 3 2-3 = 5x +3-3 5x = -1 x = -1/5   The only point that satisfies both equations is where x = -1/5 Find y:   y = 2-x  = 2 - (-1/5) = 2 + 1/5 = 10/5 + 1/5 = 11/5 Verify we get the same in the other equation y = 4x + 3   =  4(-1/5) + 3 = -4/5 + 15/5 = 11/5   Thus the only actual solution, being the point where the lines cross, is the point (-1/5, 11/5)   C.  To solve graphically  2-x=4x+3 we would graph both lines...   y = 2-x  and   y = 4x+3 The point on the graph where the lines cross is the solution to the system of equations ... [It should be, as shown above, the point (-1/5, 11/5)]   To graph y = 2-x   make a table.... We have already done this in part B   x     2-x                x    4x+3 _______              ________ -1    3                   -1      -1  0    2                    0       3  1    1                    1       7   Just graph the points on a cartesian coordinate system and draw the two lines.  The solution is, as stated, the point where the two lines cross on the graph.

Hope this helps.

There are 267 students and 21 adults going on a field trip an equal number of people will ride on each bus there are 9 buses how
DiKsa [7]

Answer:

The number of people on each bus is 32

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given

Total number of students =267

Total number of adults =21

So,

Total number of passengers = ( Total number of students)+(Total number of adults)

now, we can plug values

Total number of passengers =267+21

Total number of passengers =288

We are given

Number of buses=9

so,

Number of passengers on each bus = (total number of passengers)/( Number of buses)

now, we can plug values

Number of passengers on each bus  is

=\frac{288}{9}

=32

So,

The number of people on each bus is 32

Evaluate the surface integral ∫ ∫ₛ G(x, y, z) dS using a parametric description of the surface. G (x, y, z ) = 2z² , over the h
mixas84 [53]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the surface

G(x, y, z) =2z²

Over the hemisphere

x² + y² + z² = 36. For z≥0

Using polar coordinate

x=sin Φ cos θ,

y = sin Φ sin θ,

z = cos Φ

0 ≤ Φ ≤ π/2, 0 ≤ θ ≤ 2π

Therefore

r(Φ, θ) = sin Φ cos θ i + sin Φ sin θ j + cos Φ k

Also, dS= |rθ×rΦ|= sinΦ

dS=sinΦdΦdθ

Then we want to compute the volume integral of

∫ ∫ₛ G(x, y, z) dS

G(x, y, z) =2z²

Therefore in polar forms

G(x, y, z) =2(cos Φ)²

G(x, y, z) = 2cos²Φ

Given that dS=sinΦdΦdθ

∫ ∫ₛ G(x, y, z) dS

∫ ∫ 2cos²ΦsinΦdΦdθ at 0 ≤ Φ ≤ π/2,

0 ≤ θ ≤ 2π

∫ 2cos²ΦsinΦ •θdΦ from 0 ≤ θ ≤ 2π

2∫cos²ΦsinΦ •(2π-0)dΦ

4π∫ cos²ΦsinΦ dΦ from 0 ≤ Φ ≤ π/2

Let U = cosΦ

dU/dΦ =-sinΦ

-dU/sinΦ =dΦ

4π∫ U²sinΦ(-dU/sinΦ) 0 ≤ Φ ≤ π/2

-4π∫ U² dU

-4π U³/3, then U=cosΦ

[-4πcos³Φ / 3 ] from 0 ≤ Φ ≤ π/2

[-4π cos³(π/2)/3 - [-4π cos³(0)/3]

0+4π/3

4π/3

4π/3 unit²
