It is the baby's life support system and breathing organ while in the womb. The placenta allows oxygen and nutrients to move from the mothers blood to the fetus' blood.

John Watson proposed that the process of classical conditioning (based on Pavlov’s observations) was able to explain all aspects of human psychology.
