Alright, so first we should add up all of the teachers to get the gist of how many there are in each school.

I got 50 in both North MS and West MS.

F. Half of the teachers would be 25. music+cooking=25 teachers. Correct.

But now, we need to find percentages.

Convert the problem to an equation using the percentage formula: P% * X = Y.

30%x50= 15. Does 9+6 equal 15? Yes, F is Correct.

G. A quarter of 50 is 12.5. (There can't be decimals of teachers though.) At West MS 11 teachers enjoy reading and 14 enjoy outdoor recreation. 11 is less than 12.5 and 14 is more. Incorrect.

H. A majority means more than half in simple terms. Do more than half of the teachers at North MS enjoy rec and cooking? (6+19) It's tricky as there's 25 teachers. However, it is not greater than 25 so it is not a majority. Incorrect.

J. Less than half of 50 teachers at West MS enjoy rec and music. (14+15=29)

Incorrect.

Hope this helped! Khan Academy is a fantastic resource.

Answer:

F.) Half of the teachers at West MS enjoy cooking and music, while only 30% of the teachers at North MS enjoy cooking and music.

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>NORTH MS                     →      TOTAL: 50 TEACHERS             </u>

R:16  C:6  OR:19  M:9      →      R:32%  C:12%  OR:38%  M:18%

<u>WEST MS                         →      TOTAL: 50 TEACHERS             </u>

R:11  C:10  OR:14  M:15     →      R:22%  C:20%  OR:28%  M:30%

F.)

<em>Half of the teachers</em> at West MS enjoy <em>cooking</em> and <em>music </em>✓

<em>30%</em> of North MS enjoy <em>cooking </em>and <em>music </em>✓

<u>This statement is TRUE.</u>

G.)

<em>Over a quarter</em> of West MS teachers enjoy <em>reading </em>

<em>Less than a quarter</em> of West MS teachers enjoy <em>outdoor recreation </em>

<u>This statement is FALSE.</u>

H.)

The <em>majority</em> of teachers at North MS enjoy <em>outdoor recreation</em> and <em>cooking </em>

<u>This statement is FALSE.</u>

J.)

<em>Less than half</em> of West MS teachers enjoy <em>outdoor recreation</em> and <em>music</em>

<u>This statement is FALSE.</u>

What is the slope of the line through the points (0, 0) and (2, 6)
EleoNora [17]
For this problem, you would use the slope formula, or m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1). So, let's put in what we know.

The x's and y's correspond with our coordinates. So let's plug that in:

m=(6-0)/(2-0)
m=(6)/(2)
m=3

So, the slope of your line is 3.

Figures A and B at right are similar. Assuming that figure A is the original figure, find the scale factor and find the lengths
AnnZ [28]

The scale factor is: 1/5.

The missing sides of figure B are: 2.4, 3.6, and 4.

<h3>How to find Scale Factor?</h3>

Scale factor = dimension of new figure / dimension of original figure

The polygons given are shown in the diagram attached below.

Figure A is the original figure

Figure B is the new figure.

x, y, and z has been used to mark the missing sides of figure B.

One dimension of original figure = 15

Corresponding dimension of the new figure = 3

Scale factor = new/original = 3/15

Scale factor = 1/5

To find the missing sides of figure B, multiply each corresponding side lengths of Figure A by the scale factor:

x = 12 × 1/5 = 2.4

y = 18 × 1/5 = 3.6

z = 20 × 1/5 = 4

In summary:

The scale factor is: 1/5.

The missing sides of figure B are: 2.4, 3.6, and 4.

If rectangle ABCD is translated 5 units right and 3 units down, what are the coordinates of A'.
alexandr402 [8]

The coordinated of A would be 1,1.
Instead of going through the trouble of mentally moving the entire thing, just focus on the one you need to know the answer to, aka A.

Find a ·<br> b. |a| = 80, |b| = 50, the angle between a and b is 3π/4.
mart [117]

Answer:

a\cdot b=-2000\sqrt{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given information: |a| = 80, |b| = 50, the angle between a and b is 3π/4.

We need to find the dot product  a · b.

The formula of dot product is

a\cdot b=|a||b|\cos \theta

where, θ is the angle between a and b.

Substitute the given values in the above formula.

a\cdot b=(80)(50)\cos (\frac{3\pi}{4})

a\cdot b=4000\cos (\pi-\frac{\pi}{4})

a\cdot b=-4000\cos (\frac{\pi}{4})           [\because \cos (\pi-\theta)=-\cos \theta]

a\cdot b=-4000\frac{1}{\sqrt{2}}

a\cdot b=-\frac{4000}{\sqrt{2}}

Rationalize the above equation.

a\cdot b=-\frac{4000}{\sqrt{2}}\times \frac{\sqrt{2}}{\sqrt{2}}

a\cdot b=-\frac{4000\sqrt{2}}{2}

a\cdot b=-2000\sqrt{2}

Therefore, the value of a · b is a\cdot b=-2000\sqrt{2}.
