In this question , there are several information's that has been provided and are of immense importance. Cost of a new CD player in North Carolina cost $225. The sales tax applied is 4.75%. The amount of savings during tax free period has to be calculated.
Then
The amount of money that the customer will
save during tax free period = 225 * (4.75/100)
                                           = 225 * 0.0475
                                            = 10.687
So the person will save $10.687 or you can take it as $10.69 during the tax free period.

Forgive me if I'm doing this wrong but, 225 times .0475 = 10.68. The tax is 10.69. So, when tax doesn't need to be paid the customer saves $10.69.

Create an explicit formula of the sequence. 7, 14, 28, 56, .... Find the 10th term of the sequence. Complete your work in
OlgaM077 [116]

Answer:

3584

Step-by-step explanation:

These are the terms of a geometric sequence with n th term

a_{n} = a(r)^{n-1}

where a is the first term and r the common ratio

r = 14 ÷ 7 = 28 ÷ 14 = 56 ÷ 28 = 2 and a = 7, thus

a_{10} = 7(2)^{9} = 7 × 512 = 3584

Volume of cone = 90 ft³

Step-by-step explanation:

diameter of cone = 6ft

radius of cone = 3ft

height = 10ft

Volume of cone = \frac{\pi r^2h}{3}

V = (3 × 3 × 3 × 10)/3

V = 270/3

V = 90 ft³

Show that a discrete metric on a vector space X≠{0} cannot be obtained from a norm (the pair (X,d) is called the discrete metric
topjm [15]

You know that the discrete metric only takes values of 1 and 0. Now suppose it comes from some norm ||.||. Then for any α in the underlying field of your vector space and x,y∈X, you must have that

∥α(x−y)∥=|α|∥x−y∥.

But now ||x−y|| is a fixed number and I can make α arbitrarily large and consequently the discrete metric does not come from any norm on X.

Step-by-step explanation:

hope this helps
