It is not possible to convert m3/sec into a velocity using only unit conversions. True False

Chemistry

Answer:

The statement is true

Explanation:

Any physical quantity has a unique dimensional representation and when we change the dimensions of any physical quantity it looses it's original form. while as unit conversion is applicable to physical quantities of same nature as speed can be converted from kilometers per hour to miles per hour or meters per second, changing the units of any physical quantity into different unit's but of same dimensional formula only changes a magnitude of the physical quantity as in the above case the speed will be speed no matter whatever be the units.

since \frac{m^3}{sec} are not the units of velocity but of volumetric rate of flow  we cannot convert this quantity into velocity by only unit conversion

How might cell division help multicellular organisms maintain and repair cells
Komok [63]
Because when the cells divide (resulting in more cells) the multicellular organism mantains its strong cells and when one cell is damaged the other cells compensate for that damaged cell.

What controls the volumes of water in each cylinder once equilibrium is established?
Neporo4naja [7]

The increase in volume shift the equilibrium towards making more moles of gas, decrease in volume shift the equilibrium towards producing fewer moles of gas.

<h3>What is equilibrium?</h3>

The equilibrium of the gas is based on the pressure of the gas. With the increase in pressure, the equilibrium moves towards making fewer molecules of gas.

The gas equilibrium is proportional to the equilibrium K.

Increase in volume shift the equilibrium towards making more moles of gas, decrease in volume shift the equilibrium towards producing fewer moles of gas.

C2H6O(g) + 3O2(g) 2CO2(g) + 3H2O(g) Inside the piston of an automobile engine, 0.461 g of ethanol (C2H6O) gas reacts with 0.640
LuckyWell [14K]

Answer:

Oxygen is the limiting reactant.

Explanation:

Hello,

In this case, given the reaction:

C_2H_6O(g) + 3O_2(g)\rightarrow 2CO_2(g) + 3H_2O(g)

Hence, given the masses of both ethanol and oxygen, we are able to compute the available moles ethanol by:

n_{C_2H_6O}^{available}=0.461g*\frac{1mol}{46g}=0.01mol C_2H_6O

Next, we compute the moles of ethanol that react with the 0.640 grams of oxygen considering their 1:3 molar ratio in the chemical reaction:

n_{C_2H_6O}^{consumed\ by\ O_2}=0.64gO_2*\frac{1molO_2}{32gO_2}*\frac{1molC_2H_6O}{3molO_2} =0.0067molC_2H_6O

In such a way, since there are 0.01 available moles of ethanol but just 0.0067 moles are reacting, we evidence ethanol is in excess, therefore the oxygen is the limiting reactant.

Best regards.

A certain liquid X has a normal boiling point of 133.60°C and a boiling point elevation constant Kb= 2.46°C kg mol^-1.Calculate
Afina-wow [57]

Answer:

136.63 °C

Explanation:

ΔTb=Tb solution - Tb pure

Where; Tb pure = 133.60°C

molar mass of solute = 121.14 g/mol

number of moles of solute; 52.2g/121.14 g/mol = 0.431 moles

molality = 0.431 moles/350 * 10^-3 = 1.23 molal

Then;

ΔTb = Kb * m * i

Kb = 2.46°C kg mol^-1

m = 1.23 molal

i = 1

ΔTb = 2.46 * 1.23 * 1

ΔTb = 3.03 °C

Hence;

Tb solution = ΔTb + Tb pure

Tb solution = 3.03 °C + 133.60°C

Tb solution = 136.63 °C
