Let x = will be the shorter piece. Let 6x = will be the longer piece

So: x+6x=35 7x=35 x=5 The shorter piece is 5ft long

If the rope is 6 times bigger than the smaller rope equals 7 parys so 35/7=5 so the small rope is 5 and the big one is 30 altogether it is 35.

What is the value of x, the side length of the smallest square (please show work) Thanks!
Ratling [72]

Answer:

8 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Ok lets on the biggest square we have 17 cm

17cm is the hypotenuse for the right triangle

The second largest's area is 225 cm^2

Sq root of 225 cm^2, is 15

To find x, lets plug the info we have to the pythagorean theorom

a^2 + b^2 = c^2\\a^2 + 15^2 = 17^2\\a^2 + 225 = 289\\\\289 - 225 = a^2\\64=a^2\\a = 8 cm

The side length of the smallest Square is 8 cm

Pythagoras help needed please
boyakko [2]

Answer:

See explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

Find the diagonal of the square. The side of the square is 5 cm long. By the Pythagorean theorem,

\text{Diagonal}^2=\text{Side}^2+\text{Side}^2\\ \\\text{Diagonal}^2=5^2+5^2\\ \\\text{Diagonal}^2=25+25\\ \\\text{Diagonal}^2=50\\ \\\text{Diagonal}=\sqrt{50}=5\sqrt{2}\approx 7.07\ cm

If the square (being inside the circle) touches the circle, then the diagonal of the square is exactly the diameter of the circle. The diameter of the circle is twice the radius of the circle, so

\text{Diameter}=2\times 5=10\ cm

Since the diagonal is shorter than the diameter, the square can fit into the circle without touching the circle.

Round 2344.7968574 to the nearest hundred-thousandth
Leya [2.2K]

Answer:

2344.79686

Step-by-step explanation:

The fifth place to the right of the decimal point is the hundred-thousandth spot. Since the number following is 7, we round up, thus resulting in 2344.79686.

A cab charges $1.75 for the flat fee and $0.25 for each mile. write and solve an inequality to determine how many miles eddie ca
ad-work [718]
The answer is <span>a. $1.75 + $0.25x ≤ $15; x ≤ 53 miles
</span>
x - the number of miles
C - the cab charge

<span>A cab charges $1.75 for the flat fee and $0.25 for each mile:  C = 1.75 + 0.25x.
</span><span>Eddie has $15 to spend. So, he cannot spend more than 15 on the cab and the maximum amount he can spend is 15. Therefore:
</span>1.75 + 0.25x ≤ 15

Now, let's solve it:
0.25x ≤ 15 - 1.75
0.25x ≤ 13.25
x ≤ 13.25 / 0.25
x ≤ 53
