This is a true statement. Refusal skills are a way to avoid something you don't feel comfortable doing. Refusal skills are a very important skill to have in life because it's a way for you to learn to feel safe. I will list a few examples of refusal skills you can use.

REFUSAL SKILLS

Give a Reason/fact/excuse/even lie if it keeps you safe.

Walk Away.

Change the Subject - offer an alternate activity.

STAND UP TO THE PRESSURE! - takes courage and character but powerful.

Cold Shoulder/Ignore - avoid directly confronting the person.

Avoid the Situation - common sense tells you place and times where there may be pressure.

These refusal skills I listed above are great if you need to get out of a certain situation.

This statement is "true." Refusal skills are the skills all young teenagers need to say no to things that they do not want to do, and to not give into peer pressure. Refusal skills also help avoid doing things like drugs, alcohol, dangerous acts, and just all around bad things.

Hope this helps.
