Karl wants to rent a bike for at most $55. He can rent a bike for $7 per hour plus a $9.50 flat fee. Any portion of an hour is c

6.5 because you instantly take $9.50 away from $55. After you get that answer, you will have 45.5. Then divide 45.5 by 7 which will give you 6 and a half hours.

That would be 

10( \frac{1}{2} n + 6) = 8
\frac{1}{2} n+6= \frac{8}{10}
.5n + 6 = .8
.5n = -5.2
n=-2.6

the slope/gradient of the line is 1.5.
