Paneth cells ________. A. are absorptive cells in the small intestine B. secrete enzymes that kill bacteria C. are located next
dedylja [7]

Answer:  B. secrete enzymes that kill bacteria

Explanation:

Paneth cells, so-called because they were first described by Dr. Josef Paneth in 1888, are pyramidal cells, with the nucleus in the basal position, and with large granules in the apical position. Its first isolated specific product was the lysozyme, a bactericidal substance, by Alexander Flemming. These cells play an important role in innate immunity in the small intestine, producing a wide diversity of antimicrobial peptides and enzymes such as lysozyme itself, cryptidines, defensins and a lectin with bactericidal properties.

Human cells have 46 chromosomes. Each chromosome consists of a pair of identical chromatids attached together by a structure cal
nevsk [136]

Answer:

The answer is 46 chromosomes.

Before mitosis, cell duplicates its DNA material so there are 46 chromosomes in duplicates and in total there are 46 x 2 = 92 sister chromatids. During mitosis, sister chromatids first join in the middle of the cell and then separate towards the opposite sides of the cell. After they separate, there are 46 sister chromatids on the one side and 46 sister chromatids on the other side. Each sister chromatid at the end of cytokinesis actually represents the chromosome of the newly formed daughter cell.

What structures work in antagonistic pairs to move bones?
Olegator [25]

Answer

Option C - Skeletal Muscles

Explanation

Antagonistic pairs are the muscles that are functionally opposite, if one produces flexion, then the other's primary action is an extension. Skeletal muscles work in pairs to move a bone so that the muscles can function properly. They contract the bone making nerves deliver a message to the brain. For example. Biceps and triceps. The lower arm is moved upwards when the biceps muscle contracts and the triceps muscle is relaxed and vice versa.

Staphylococcus aureus is grown in heart-infusion broth at 37°C. If you start exponential phase with 100 cells, and after 90 minu
Nikolay [14]

Answer:

30 minutes

Explanation:

Bacteria reproduce by binary fission, a process by which one parent cell divides to form 2 progeny cells. Because one cell produces 2 progeny cells, bacteria are said to undergo exponential ( logarithmic) growth.

As in the case of staphylococcus aureus, we start with 100 cells ,  and after 90 minutes number becomes 800 that means  , firstly the cells doubled (100 x 2 = 200 ) after 30 minutes. Again after 30 minutes they doubled ( 200 x 2 =400 ) and again after 30 minutes they doubled (400 x 2 = 800). So in 90 minutes 100 cells became 800 cells.

Hence the generation time for S.aureus is 30 minutes.
