the equation s=2√5x can be used to estimate the speed ,s,of a car in milles per hour, given the length in feet ,x, of the tire m

arks it leaves on the ground .A card travelling 90 miles per hour came to a sudden stop according to the equation ,how long would the tire marks be for this car A 355 feet B 380 feet C 405 feet D 430 feet

Answer:

405 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

s = 2 * (√5) * 90

s = 2 * 201.246117975

s = 402.49223595

Closest estimate

405 feet

Answer:

Since The equation that depicts the motion of the Car is given.

The speed in terms of the tire marks...

s= 2√5x

where x is the tire marks(in feet.)

s is the speed(miles per hr)

We can't use the speed in Miles per hr when the tire mark is feet.

1mile = 5280ft

90miles x 5280ft/1mile = 475,200ft/hr

Making x the subject

x= s/2√5

x= 475/200/(2√5 )

=106,257ft

I still can't see what I'm missing or You sure you didn't forget to add something else to the question?

Jeremiah paid $29.52 for a pair of boots thatwere on sale. The original price of the boots was$36.00. Enter the percentage disco
Colt1911 [192]

Remark

The key to this question is to get the original price (36) down to 29.52. In other words, what % will when multiplied by 36 will result in 29.52?

Solution

36 * (x/100) = 29.52   Multiply both sides by 100

36 * x = 29.52 * 100  The 100 on the left disappears.

36 * x = 2952              The decimal disappears. Divide by 36

x = 2952/36

x = 82%

That is not your answer. That just tells you what % of 36 is that would give 29.52

Answer

The % discount is 100 - 82 = 18%. That is the % discount.

which of the following sets of ordered pairs does not satisfy a linear function? a. (2,5), 4,9), (6,13), (7,15), (9,17) b. (2,5)
Nookie1986 [14]

Answer:

a. (2,5), (4,9), (6,13), (7,15), (9,17)

Step-by-step explanation:

slope = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

a. (2,5), (4,9), (6,13), (7,15), (9,17)

m = (9-5)/(4-2) = 4/2 =2   an increase in 2 y  for every 1 x

from 7 to 9 is an increase of 2 in the x direction so we should increase 4 in the y direction  (15 to 17 is an increase of only 2)

This is not a linear function

b. (2,5), (3,7), (4,9), (5,11), (6,13)

c. (2,6), (4,8), (6,10), (8,12), (10,14)

d. (2,6), (3,9), (4,12), (5,15), (6,18)
