A surveyor is studying a map of the community and is using vectors to determine the distance between two schools. On the map, th

e surveyor determined that school A is at (7, 12), and school B is at (–21, –13). The scale of the map is 1 unit = 100 meters.
Which vector represents the path from school A to school B, and what is the actual distance between them?

a) components: LeftAngleBracket 28, 25 RightAngleBracket, actual distance: about 37.54 meters
b) components: LeftAngleBracket 28, 25 RightAngleBracket, actual distance: about 3,754 meters
c) components:LeftAngleBracket negative 28, negative 25 RightAngleBracket, actual distance: about 37.54 meters
d) components:LeftAngleBracket negative 28, negative 25 RightAngleBracket, actual distance: about 3,754 meters

Write the values that make the denominators zero. then solve the equation?
Olin [163]

Answer:

 denominators are zero for x=1

 there is no solution

Step-by-step explanation:

We suspect your equation is supposed to be ...

 10/(5x -5) +1/5 = 2/(x -1) . . . . . parentheses are required on denominators

The denominators will be zero for x=1.

This version of the equation has no solution. It simplifies to ...

 2/(x-1) + 1/5 = 2/(x -1)

 1/5 = 0 . . . . . subtract 2/(x-1) from both sides

There is no value of x that will make this equation true.

_____

Alternative interpretation

The way your equation is written, it must be interpreted according to the order of operations to be ...

 (10/5)x -5 +1/5 = (2/x) -1 . . . . x=0 makes the denominator zero

 2x -3.8 = 2/x

 2x^2 -3.8x = 2 . . . . multiply by x

 2(x^2 -1.9x +.95^2) = 2 +2(0.95^2)

 (x -0.95)^2 = 1.9025

 x = 0.95 ± √1.9025 ≈ {-0.4293, 2.3293}

1. The Cajun Heartland State Fair charges $1.25 per ticket for the rides. Johnny bought 25 tickets for the rides and spent a tot
vladimir1956 [14]

Part (a)

The variable y is the dependent variable and the variable x is the independent variable.

Part (b)

The cost of one ticket is $1.25. Therefore, the cost of 25 tickets will be: .

Now, we know that Johnny spent his money only on ride tickets and fair admission and that he spent a total of $43.75.

Therefore, the price of the fair admission is: $43.75-$31.25=$12.5

If we use y to represent the total cost and x to represent the number of ride tickets, the linear equation that can be used to determine the cost for anyone who only pays for ride tickets and fair admission can be written as:

y=1.25x+12.5......Equation 1

Part (c)

The above equation is logical because, in general, the total cost of the rides will depend upon the number of ride tickets bought and that will be 1.25x. Now, even if one does not take any rides, that is when x=0, they still will have to pay for the fair admission, and thus their total cost, y=$12.5.

Likewise, any "additional" cost will depend upon the number of ride tickets bought as already suggested. Thus, the total cost will be the sum of the total ride ticket cost and the fixed fair admission cost. Thus, the above Equation 1 is the correct representative linear equation of the question given.

Nikolai has a jar filled with 120 marbles. he has 72 red marbles, 17 blue marbles, 13 green marbles, and 18 purple marbles. what
asambeis [7]
To find the probability of both of these occurring, you will multiply the probability of choosing a blue marble by the probability of choosing a purple marble (with no replacement after the first one).

Probability of choosing a blue marble: 17/120
Probability of choosing a purple marble: 18/119

17/120 x 18/119 = 3/140

You will have a 3/140 chance of both of these occurring.

GEOMETRY HELP PLZ
tangare [24]

Answer:

0.324

0.068

Step-by-step explanation:

If Russell is 5'9" ; then he is under 6 feets :

Probability = number of forwards under 6 feets / tot number of players

Probability = 120 / 370 = 0.324

Peter is 6'2" ; Peter is over 6 feets ;

Probability that Peter is a guard = (number of guards over 6 feets / total number of players) = 25 / 370 = 0.0676 = 0.068
