Answer: Y = 3x - 2

Work: Okay, let's take this step by step. Since the Y - Intercept is -2, put a dot on -2 on the (Y) Line. It also just so happens that the line goes through -2. Now with 3x. 3x is the same thing as 3x / 1. Since three is on the top, you go up three from -2, and then move over one spot because of the 1 (If it was a negative one, you go the opposite direction) Alright, now you see that the line also passes through that point as well, so it has to be y = 3x -2

<em>I hope this helps, and Happy Holidays! :)</em>

The equations that express the relationship between the side lengths of the triangles are

  • 10² = 6² + 8²
  • (\sqrt{8} )^{2}  = (\sqrt{5} )^{2} + (\sqrt{3} )^{2}
  • (\sqrt{30} )^{2} = 5^{2} + (\sqrt{5} )^{2}
  • (\sqrt{37} )^{2}  = 1^{2} + 6^{2}
  • 3^{2} = (\sqrt{2} )^{2} + (\sqrt{7} )^{2}

<h3>Pythagorean triple</h3>

From the question, we are to write an equation that expresses the relationship between the side lengths of each triangle

From the Pythagorean theorem,

In a right triangle, the square of the longest side (hypotenuse) equals sum of squares of the other two sides

That is,

c² = a² + b²

Where c is the longest side (hypotenuse)

a and b are the other two sides

  • For 10, 6, 8

The equation is

10² = 6² + 8²

  • For \sqrt{5}, \sqrt{3}, \sqrt{8}

The equation is

(\sqrt{8} )^{2}  = (\sqrt{5} )^{2} + (\sqrt{3} )^{2}

  • For 5, \sqrt{5}, \sqrt{30}

The equation is

(\sqrt{30} )^{2} = 5^{2} + (\sqrt{5} )^{2}

  • For 1, \sqrt{37}, 6

The equation is

(\sqrt{37} )^{2}  = 1^{2} + 6^{2}

  • For 3, \sqrt{2}, \sqrt{7}

The equation is

3^{2} = (\sqrt{2} )^{2} + (\sqrt{7} )^{2}

Hence, the equations that express the relationship between the side lengths of the triangles are

  • 10² = 6² + 8²
  • (\sqrt{8} )^{2}  = (\sqrt{5} )^{2} + (\sqrt{3} )^{2}
  • (\sqrt{30} )^{2} = 5^{2} + (\sqrt{5} )^{2}
  • (\sqrt{37} )^{2}  = 1^{2} + 6^{2}
  • 3^{2} = (\sqrt{2} )^{2} + (\sqrt{7} )^{2}

What is the scale factor for the set of similar figures? Type in your answer as a decimal.
BaLLatris [955]
<span>to find the scale factor, the main formula which is used for solving such a problem is as follow: If the initial shape is greater than the final's, so we use SF=SL / LL. SF= scale factor, SL=Smaller length, LL= Larger legth. According to our case, the smaller length is SL=6mm, and the Larger length is LL=15mm, so SF=6mm/15mm=2/0.4mm.The answer is SF=0.4mm</span>

A school is painting its logo in the shape of a triangle in the middle of its sports field. The school wants the height of a tri
vova2212 [387]

Answer:

The base of the logo must be less than 6 feets but greter than 0 feet, 0<b<6.

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula of area of triangle is A = 1/2×b×h where b is the base and h is the height. It is given that the height of the logo is 4ft and the area is lesa than 12 ft². Using this information, we can make an inequality exrpression :

Let h = 4ft

1/2 × b × 4 < 12

1/2 × b < 12 ÷ 4

1/2 × b < 3

b < 3 ÷ 1/2

b < 6 ft
