Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Alright, lets get started.

There is a graph given and there are four equations given.

We are asked to determine which equation belongs to this graph.

When we see the graph, We see, at x = 0, y = 1

Similarly, when x = -1, y = 0

Lets plug these conditions into the equation given:

x-y=-1

0-y=-1

y=1

This satisfied the condition, similarly,

Lets plug x = -1

-1-y=-1

y=0

Which satisfies the condition.

So the equation is : x-y=-1     :    Answer A

Hope it will help :)

Graph equations always start with y equals, using the graph, I found the gradient to be 1x and it went through 1 at the y intercept therefore I got the equation y=x+1

It is a because you have to rearrange it

The area of a rectangular wall of a barn is 168 square feet. Its length is 10 feet longer than twice its width. Find the length
Katen [24]
So area is 168 sq ft

That means that length * width = 168 sq ft
Since length  = 10 + 2 w

we get (10+2w)(w)  = 168

Multiply it out and you get 2w^2 + 10w - 168 = 0

This is a quadratic equation. You can use the formula here, but i'll just tell you the answer

w = -12,  or 7
since it can't equal -12 (ever heard of a barn with a length of -12?), you figure out the answer is 7.

If the width is 7, then the length is 10+2(7) = 24.

Have a nice day!

Which equation in point-slope form contains the points (2, 6) and (–1, 3)?
Karo-lina-s [1.5K]
Using the formula for lines y=mx+b
To find out the gradient of the line, we do (y2-y1)/(x2-x1).
(3-6)/(-1-2)= -3/-3= 1 is the slope of the line
So far, y=(1)x+b
Now substitute one of your given coordinates into this equation:
6=2+b
b=4
Therefore, the equation of the line is y=x+4

Anastasy [175]

Let x km/h be the Jim's speed. If the difference in Jim's and John's speeds is 2 km/h, then the John's speed is x+2 km/h.

1. John takes 15 minutes to walk with speed x+2 km/h from school to the bus station, then the distance is 15·(x+2) km.

2. Jim takes 20 minutes to walk with speed x km/h from school to the bus station, then the distance is 20·x km.

3. The distance is the same, so

20x=15(x+2),

20x=15x+30,

20x-15x=30,

5x=30,

x=30:5,

x=6.

Answer: the distance between the station and the school is 6 km.
