How many blue candles are there in a basket of 490 candles, if there are 3/4 as many orange candles as blue?
Mrrafil [7]

Answer:

210 orange candles

280 blue candles

Step-by-step explanation:

x = blue candles

y = orange candles

y = 0.75x

x + y = 490

x + 0.75x = 490

1.75x = 490

x = 280

280 + y = 490

y = 210
