F(8) is basically saying that x=8, so the problem would be 8+11=19 im pretty sure :)

So for question 7 part A the picture will be a triangle similar to the the one that shows the umbrella's height. But the base will be 40 and the height will be 130.

for part B the angle of depression can be found using the trigonometric function of tangent.

tan x = 40/130
tan^-1 (tan x) = tan^-1 (40/30)
x = 17 degrees

I hope i am right

Randy is walking home from school. According to the diagram above, what is his total distance from school to home? Show your wor
In-s [12.5K]

Answer:

First, when he walks, we can see in the image that between the school and his house he must walk 4 times a distance of 0.5km, so this is a total of 4¨*0.5km = 2km.

Then he needs to walk 2km.

Now if he has a jet-pack, he can ignore the buildings and just take the shorter path, here we can draw a triangle rectangle, in such a way that the hypotenuse of this triangle is the distance between the home and the school.

One of the catheti is the vertical distance (two blocks of 0.5km, so this catheti has a length of 2*0.5km = 1km), and the other one is the horizontal distance, also 1km.

The actual distance of this path is given by the Pythagorean's theorem:

A^2 + B^2 = H^2

Where A and B are the cathetus, and H is the hypotenuse, then:

H^2 = 1km^2 + 1km^2

H = (√2)km = 1.41km.

Now, in the case that he has a jet-pack, he can actually go to the school using this hypotenuse line as his path, in this case the distance and the displacement would be the same.

This is because the definitions of distance and displacement are:

Distance: "how much ground an object has covered"

Displacement: "Difference between the final position and the initial position"

When he walks, the distance is 2km and the displacement is 1.41km , but when he uses the jet pack, the distance is equal to the displacement, both are 1.41km.

Which point is an x-intercept of the quadratic function f(x) = (x + 6) X – 3)?
Anni [7]

Answer:

(-6, 0) and (3, 0)

Step-by-step explanation:

I think you meant f(x) = (x + 6)(x - 3).  This graph intersects the x-axis in two places:  (-6, 0) and (3, 0).  These are the "x-intercepts."

In how many ways can a set of two nonnegative integers less than 100 be chosen?
hichkok12 [17]

Answer: 4950

Step-by-step explanation:

The number of possible combinations of n things taken r at a time is given by :-

C(n,r)=\dfrac{n!}{r!(n-r)!}

Total nonnegative integers less than 100 ={0,1,2,... ,99} = 100

So, the number of combinations of choosing 2 out of them = C(100,2)=\dfrac{100!}{2!98!}=\dfrac{100\times99\times98!}{2\times98!}\\\\=\dfrac{100\times99}{2}\\\\=50\times 99\\\\=4950

So, the number of ways to choose a set of two nonnegative integers less than 100 = 4950
