The price of a bag of candy is a linear function of the amount of candy in the bag. A bag containing 25 pieces costs $0.99 and a

bag containing 100 pieces costs $3.99. Write the function that models this situation. Express your answer in y = mx + b form, using decimals. Round decimal values to the nearest hundredth.

When two values are given for a linear function, it is easier to obtain the equation using the two-point form, namely
(y-y1)=m(x-x1)  where
m=slope=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
and
(x1,y1) and (x2,y2) are the given two points.

Here
(x1,y1)=(25,0.99), and
(x2,y2)=(100,3.99)
Find slope, m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)=(3.99-0.99)/(100-25)=3/75=0.04
Find equation:
(y-y1)=m(x-x1)
(y-0.99)=0.04(x-25)
Expand and simplify:
y=0.04x-1+0.99 , simplify
y=0.04x-0.01..............................Function that models the situation

Answer:

1/4y

Step-by-step explanation:

(-x^-1)^0/(4y^-1*y^2)

anything to the power of 0 gives you 1,

1/(4y^-1*y^2)

-1+2=1

1/4y^1=1/4y

PLS HELP QUICKLY !!!!!!
Olegator [25]
Answer: Choice C)

--------------------------------------

mean = xbar = (2400+1750+1900+2500+2250+2100)/6
mean = 2150

Subtract the data values from the mean to get

2400-2150 = 250
1750-2150 = -400
1900-2150 = -250
2500-2150 = 350
2250-2150 = 100
2100-2150 = -50
The differences are: 250, -400, -250, 350, 100, -50

Then you square those values and add up the squares

(250)^2 +  (-400)^2 +  (-250)^2 +  (350)^2 +  (100)^2 +  (-50)^2 = 420,000

3. The sum of two numbers 49. The difference of the two numbers is 15. What is the product of the two numbers?
Alborosie

Lets set the two numbers as 'a' and 'b'

Now let us set up some equations based on the information:

  • sum of two numbers 49 -->  a + b = 49
  • difference of the two numbers is 15 --> a -b =15

Equations

 a + b = 49 -- equation 1

 a - b = 15 -- equation 2

Solve:

 (equation 1) + (equation 2)

    2a = 64

      a = 32 -- equation 3

 (equation 3)'s value of a into (equation 2)

  32 - b = 15

    b = 17

The products of 'a' and 'b' is 544

Hope that helps!
