Answer:

  • y = 7/4x

Step-by-step explanation:

Lin bought x grams of sugar.

Jada bought 3⁄4 more than  Lin bought.

<u>The equation:</u>

  • y = x + 3/4x ⇒ y = 7/4x

Is it ever possible that cos (A−B)=cos ⁡A−cos ⁡B? Why or why not?
Nookie1986 [14]

Answer:

The given equation is never possible i.e cos ( A - B ) ≠ cos A - cos B

Step-by-step explanation:

Given as :

Is cos ( A - B ) = cos A - cos B

To check this possibility , Let us put the value of angle A and B on both side of equation

Now, Let A = 60°    and  B = 30°

<u>From Left hand side equation </u>

cos ( A - B ) = cos ( 60°  - 30° )

Or, cos ( A - B ) = cos 30°

∴   cos ( A - B ) = \frac{\sqrt{3} }{2}

or, cos ( A - B ) = 0.866

<u>From Right hand side equation</u>

cos A - cos B  =  cos  60° - cos  30°

Or,  cos A - cos B  =   \frac{1}{2} -  \frac{\sqrt{3} }{2}

∴,  cos A - cos B  = 0.5 - 0.866

I.e  cos A - cos B  = - 0.366

So, Left hand side ≠ Right hand side

<u>Since while equating the values of angle A and b in the given equation on both sides, we get that the value of both sides are not equal , Thus we can say that the given equation is not equal to each other .</u>

Hence given equation is never possible i.e cos ( A - B ) ≠ cos A - cos B Answer

How can a linear approximation be used to approximate the value of a function f near a point at which f and f prime are easily
sammy [17]

Answer:

This can be solved by calculating a first degree Taylor approximation polynomial for the function in question around x=a. Taylor's first degree polynomial is given by:

P_1(a) =f(a) +f'(a)(x-a)

Through this expression, which is easily evaluable around the point x = a, the function f (x) is approximated through a linear function.

Cloud [144]
The first step for solving this is to write the expression on the right side of the equation in exponential form.
5^{x-3} =  5^{-2}
Since the bases are the same,, set the exponents equal to each other.
x - 3 = -2
Now move the constant to the right side and then change its sign.
x = -2 + 3
Now calculate the sum to get your final answer.
x = 1
This means that the correct answer to your equation is going to be x = 1.
