Jill graduated from college and started a new career. She works as a merchandise buyer for a large dog outfitter, so she spends
her days tracking the runways of the latest dog fashion shows and then purchasing clothes for her bosses to sell in their store and online. Jill is very close to her mother and talks to her every day, telling her how much she loves what she does. However, her boss is mean, never gives Jill any praise, and often ridicules her for her poor choices in doggy sweaters. This results in Jill becoming very unhappy. What level of Maslow's hierarchy of needs is Jill having difficulty achieving?
Esteem needs could be described as an acceptance or respect an individual needs from others to strengthen their confidence in that particular endeavor which is related to where they need it.
Jill wants to have that sense of being valued by her boss for the contribution she brings to the organization, these would strengthen her while doing the job and would also show that she given a good appraisal but in the scenario where she doesn't receive such commendation she feels unworthy doing the job and have no sense of growth or development.
Trevor started with an internal search and then progress to an external search.
The internal search happens when Trevor retrieves information from his memory about what types of liquor he and his friends like most (consensus opinions) then the external search is when he asks the attractive clerk at the liquor store what she would recommend (gathering all available research on the particular topic)
