What irrational number can be added to pi to get a sum that is rational
m_a_m_a [10]

Answer is  -pi

Let x be this unknown number. Adding on x to pi gets us the expression x+pi

If we set x+pi equal to zero (which is a rational number) and solve for x, we get

x+pi = 0

x+pi - pi = 0 - pi

x = -pi

so adding pi to -pi will lead to 0 since

x+pi = -pi+pi = 0

Han earned $850 over the summer working odd jobs. He wants to put his money into a savings account for when he is ready to buy a
Naily [24]

Answer:

85 in intreset and 935 totoal

Step-by-step explanation:

Answer:

A = $935.00

I = A - P = $85.00

Equation:

A = P(1 + rt)

Calculation:

First, converting R percent to r a decimal

r = R/100 = 5%/100 = 0.05 per year.

Solving our equation:

A = 850(1 + (0.05 × 2)) = 935

A = $935.00

The total amount accrued, principal plus interest, from simple interest on a principal of $850.00 at a rate of 5% per year for 2 years is $935.00.

A local high school held a two-day fundraiser selling lunches. The equations shown represent the amount of money the school coll
Mademuasel [1]

Amount of money collected in the 2-day fundraiser is represented by the following equations:

  • 12x + 4y = 152 .................. (i)
  • 32x + 12y = 420 .................. (ii)

where x is the cost of a chicken lunch and y is the cost of a vegetarian lunch

Multiplying (i) with 3 and subtracting it from (ii)

36x + 12y - (32x + 12y) = 456 - 420

⇒ 4x = 36

⇒ x = 9

Put value of x in (i)

⇒ 12 × 9 + 4y = 152

⇒ 108 + 4y = 152

⇒ 4y = 44

⇒ y = 11

Hence, cost of the vegetarian meal is 11.

Please I need the answer quickly
USPshnik [31]
Well, for number 15, this is what I came up with, I hope it is what your teacher is looking for:
So it starts out with 3 butterflies, and it doubles every minute:
3x2 = 6  That is for the first minute
6x2 = 12 That is for the second minute
12x2 = 24 That is for the third minute
24x2 = 48 That is for the fourth minute

So, It asks for using the power of 2 in your answer, that is what I came up with for part A.

For part B I would say something like this:

X represents the number of butterflies left.
The equation, using the information above would be this:

48-7 = X
Then simplify, which would leave you with 41 butterflies.

I hope this helps! :)
