Answer:

x=−7

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1: Add 5 to both sides.

−3x−5+5=16+5

−3x=21

Step 2: Divide both sides by -3.

−3x/−3=21/−3

Answer:

x = -7

Step-by-step explanation:

Hello.

I can help.

To solve algebraic equations all you need to do is get rid of everything on the side of the x except the x.

Lets look at your problem.

-3x - 5 = 16

An important thing to note is we are going to get rid of things on the left side of the = by doing the opposite of what they're doing.

If it is addition we do subtraction

If it is division we do multiplication

and so on.

ALSO

Whatever we do on the left side of the = we must do the same thing to the number on the right.

Now, let us start trying to solve this.

You always want to start with the number that is alone without the variable / letter.

So :

-3x - 5 = 16

Since it is -5 lets add 5 to make it 0 and get rid of it.

-3x - 5 = 16

     +5  +5

(Remember to do it to the other side of the = too)

Now we have :

-3x = 21

Now we want to get rid of the 3 attached to the x. And since these two are multiplying we need to divide the -3 by itself to make it 1. Since one number divided by itself is 1.

So like this :

-3x = 21

/-3    /-3

NOTE : When you are dividing or multiplying negative numbers there is an important key to be aware of. Here is a short key to go off of :

- x - = +

- x + = -

So a negative times a negative will be a positive.

While a positive times a negative, the negative will over ride the positive and the answer will be negative.

Going back to the equation, here is what we do :

-3x / -3 = +x (Not negative)

And :

21 / -3 = -7 (Is negative)

So now our equation is :

x = -7

And this is our final answer.

I hope this helped.

spade realty sold lots for $23240 per hectare . what is total sales values if the lots in hectare were 2,3,4 ?
MArishka [77]

Answer:

  • 2: $23,240
  • 3: $23,240
  • 4: $23,240

Step-by-step explanation:

You want to know the total sales value of 2, 3, or 4 lots per hectare, when each lot is sold for $23,240 per hectare.

<h3>Sales value</h3>

If lots are sold a the rate of $23,240 per hectare, it does not matter how many lots a hectare is divided into. Each hectare will have a total value of $23,240, regardless of the number of lots.

For example, if the hectare is divided into 10 lots, each will sell for ...

  $23,240/10 = $2324.

The total value of those 10 lots is ...

  10 × $2324 = $23,240.

Replacing 10 by N gives the same result:

  N × ($23,240/N) = $23,240

Total sales values are $23,240 for any number of lots.

(1 point) solve the separable differential equation y′(x)=2y(x)+18−−−−−−−−−√, y′(x)=2y(x)+18, and find the particular solution s
luda_lava [24]
We write the equation in terms of dy/dx,
<span>y'(x)=sqrt (2y(x)+18)</span>
dy/dx = sqrt(2y + 18)
dy/dx = sqrt(2) ( sqrt(y + 9))

Separating the variables in the equation, we will have:
<span>1/sqrt(y + 9) dy= sqrt(2) dx </span>

Integrating both sides, we will obtain
<span>2sqrt(y+9) = x(sqrt(2)) + c </span>
<span>where c is a constant and can be determined by using the boundary condition given </span>
<span>y(5)=9 : x = 5, y = 9
</span><span>sqrt(9+9) = 5/sqrt(2) + C </span>

<span>C = sqrt(18) - 5/sqrt(2) = sqrt(2) / 2</span>

Substituting to the original equation,
sqrt(y+9) = x/sqrt(2) + sqrt(2) / 2

<span>sqrt(y+9) = (2x + 2) / 2sqrt(2)
</span>
Squaring both sides, we will obtain,
<span>y + 9 = ((2x+2)^2) / 8</span>

y = ((2x+2)^2) / 8 - 9

A nightclub has approximated the demand for their Thursday night drink special by p^2+200q^2=177, where p is the price (in dol
Irina18 [472]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the approximate demand function of night drink expressed as;

p^2+200q^2=177,

p is the price (in dollars) and;

q is the quantity demanded (in thousands).

Given

p = $7

q = 800

Required

dq/dp

Differentiating the function implicitly with respect to p shown;

2p + 400d dq/dp = 0

400q dq/dp = -2p

200qdq/dp = -p

dq/dp = -p/100q

substitute p and q into the resulting equation;

dq/dp = -7/100(800)

dq/dp = -7/80000

dq/dp = -0.0000875

This means that the rate of change of quantity demanded with respect to the price is  -0.0000875

Given that sin(90 -5ϴ) = Cos(180 - ϴ), Find the value of ϴ<br>
lilavasa [31]

Answer:

30°

Step-by-step explanation:

\because \:  \sin(90 \degree -  \theta) =  \cos \theta \\ \therefore \:  \sin(90 \degree - 5 \theta) =  \cos 5\theta....(1) \\  \\ \sin(90 \degree - 5 \theta) = \cos(180 \degree -  \theta)...(2) \\ from \: (1) \: and \: (2) \\ \cos 5\theta = \cos(180 \degree -  \theta) \\ 5 \theta = 180 \degree -  \theta \\  5 \theta  + \theta= 180 \degree  \\ 6\theta= 180 \degree  \\  \theta =  \frac{180 \degree}{6}  \\  \\  \huge \red{ \boxed{\theta = 30 \degree}}
