Option C

For each value of y, -2 is a solution of -21 = 6y - 9

Solution:

Given, equation is – 21 = 6y – 9

We have to find that whether given set of options can satisfy the above equation or not

Now, let us check one by one option

Option A)

Given option is -5

Let us substitute -5 in given equation

- 21 = 6(-5) – 9

- 21 = -30 – 9

- 21 = - 39

L.H.S ≠ R.H.S ⇒ not a solution

Option B)

Given option is 3

- 21 = 6(3) – 9

- 21 = 18 – 9

- 21 = 9

L.H.S ≠ R.H.S ⇒ not a solution

Option C)

Given option is -2

- 21 = 6(-2) – 9

- 21 = - 12 – 9

- 21 = - 21

L.H.S = R.H.S ⇒ yes a solution

Option D)

- 21 = 6(9) – 9

- 21 = 54 – 9

- 21 = 45

L.H.S ≠ R.H.S ⇒ not a solution

Hence, the solution for the given equation is – 2, so option c is correct

Given that the employed adult is male, what is the probability that he felt tense or stressed out at work
SVETLANKA909090 [29]
In the study the total number of males was 739 and the total number of all employees was 1501. The men who felt stressed or tensed out during work were 244 and those that never felt stressed out were 495.
Assuming that, A= Employed adults was male and B= Employed adult felt tense or stress out at work.
Then , P(A/B) = P(A∩B)/ P(B)
P(B) is the probability of having a male.
P(B) = 739/1501
P(A∩B) is the probability of a man being stressed or tensed out at work.
   and P(A∩B) = 244/ 1501
Hence, P(A/B) =(244/1501)/ (739/1501)
                        = 244/739
                         = 0.3302.
Thus, the probability that the employed work felt tense or stress at work given that the employed employee was male is 0.3302

If f(x) =x-1 and g(x)=5x-2, then (f+g)(x)=
Dvinal [7]

Answer:

5x²-7x+2

step by step explanation:

(f•g)(x) = f(x)•g(x)

(x-1)•(5x-2)

x×5x-2x-5x-1×(-2)

5x²-2x-5x+2

=5x²-7x+2

2. State two (2) values of θ (theta) to the nearest degree for
sin θ = − 0. 966
emmasim [6.3K]

Using equivalent angles, the solutions to the equation are given as follows:

\theta = 255^\circ, \theta = 285^\circ

What are equivalent angles?

Each angle on the second, third and fourth quadrants will have an equivalent on the first quadrant.

In this problem, the equation is:

\sin{\theta} = -0.966

Applying the inverse relation:

\theta = \arcsin{-0.966} = 255^\circ

Which is on the third quadrant. The equivalent angle on the fourth quadrant is given as follows:

270^\circ + (270^\circ - 255^\circ) = 285^\circ
