2. The Youngs decided to book the room at the price that Mrs. Young was given, $1879, because it included breakfast for both of

them for the entire stay. The travel agent could not match that price. At the end of the trip, Mr. Young received a bill showing a pre-tax amount of $1879. The tax is 8.5%. When the Youngs went to check out, they told the front desk that the refrigerator in the room had not worked during the majority of their time there. The hotel decided to give them a 5% discount off the pre-tax amount. Mr. Young says the new total will be $1944.77. He shows Mrs. Young how he found the new total.
Since we have to add 8.5% tax and subtract 5% for the discount, this means we will add 3.5% in the end.
8.5 − 5 = 3.5
Therefore, we just need to multiply the cost of the room by 3.5% and add this number to the cost of the room to determine what we owe.
3.5% x 1879= 0.035 x 1879= 65.765, which rounds to $65.77.
Add $65.77 to the total $1879 to get $1944.77.
Explain why Mr. Young’s calculations are incorrect. What is the correct total? Show your work. Round your answers to the nearest cent.

The answer is 38 CD's. Since the percent is of 100, 2% of 100 would be 50. Then, twelve subtracted from 50 determined that 38 CD's were sold during last month.

If 8 is an element in the domain of f(x)=
EleoNora [17]

In Functions and Function Notation, we were introduced to the concepts of domain and range. In this section, we will practice determining domains and ranges for specific functions. Keep in mind that, in determining domains and ranges, we need to consider what is physically possible or meaningful in real-world examples, such as tickets sales and year in the horror movie example above. We also need to consider what is mathematically permitted. For example, we cannot include any input value that leads us to take an even root of a negative number if the domain and range consist of real numbers. Or in a function expressed as a formula, we cannot include any input value in the domain that would lead us to divide by 0.

Answer:

The rules of a contest say that there is a 9% chance of winning a prize. Six hundred people enter the contest. Predict how many people will win a prize?

9/100 x 600= 54

Step-by-step explanation:

From the above analogy, it shows that 9% of the entire 600 people will win the prize of the contest. this means that out of 600 people 54 people has the chance to clinch the medal while 546 has the remaining percentage
